Another day, another poem analysis.
This one’s a short one, easy to memorise, called ‘The Eagle’ by Alfred, Lord Tennyson.
I only expected to read it, but couldn’t help picking apart why it’s so poignant to me too.

He clasps the crag with crooked hands;
Close to the sun in lonely lands,
Ring’d with the azure world, he stands.
The wrinkled sea beneath him crawls;
He watches from his mountain walls,
And like a thunderbolt he falls.
